Picos de Europa

I love it here and I may never leave.  We are staying outside of a larger town, Potes, in a small village, Tudes.  There is one hotel/apt. and 1 bar and about 30 year round inhabitants.  Most have sheetp or cows, chickens and a garden.  They work their land and wear the traditional Cantabrian shoes that farmers have worn for a long darn time called albarcas.  Check out this blog, I'm going to.

Everyone is very chatty, though we only understand about half of what they say, it's improving our Spanish all the same.  They boys even endeavor to chat up the locals, mostly about the abundance of sweet dogs, but they're speaking Spanish!  I have more pictures of this and will certainly post them soon.

These last 12 pictures are of a medevil village called Porciedo.  The villagers from Tudes keep sheep, hogs and a garden here, but no one has lived here for 20 years.  We may buy it.
