Rome!

Arrived on the 11th for the final leg of our 87 day journey thru Europe.  We are bittersweet about leaving.  So much to be grateful for. Many adventures have been had and many to return for.  Excited about returning to friends an family and preparing for the second half of the Vagabond Year. Oh yeah!  I cannot wait to see my dog!

Look at the cute coat Allison and Doug put him in to keep him warm!

Westerpark

We inadvertently discovered a part of town that I don't think is well known to tourists who only spend a few days in Amsterdam, but is none-the-less my new favorite thing to do.  Westerpark has coffee, running trails, galleries, parks and playgrounds, nature centers, bike trails, birds, markets, movies and so much more.  Read about it here.

The Sunday market going off.

Beehive.  The caption above is, "I love beeing."

Farmey, naturey center.

Bikes

Everywhere bikes.  Motor scooters too.  I like pigeons better than I like motor scooters and their drivers.  In fact, I like most anything better than I like motor scooters and their drivers.  The bikes are pretty domineering too, but a lot less annoying.  Anyway, biking is the way to go.  We rented bikes and saw our lives flash before our eyes...mostly because of taxis and well, motor scooters.  But their simplicity, functionality and beauty sums up Amsterdam perfectly.

This cargo spot is for kids or stuff.

Bike parking.

Spot on the front is for a kid too!
